Lady fern
Athyrium filix-femina
Lady fern, despite its disconcerting name, is an extremely pleasant fern. Its delicate leaves of light green color tickle the ears of forest creatures whenever one passes by hunting or fleeing. Its feminine nature enjoys the company of other similarly disposed forest plants, but, like a female, it does not tolerate competition in its territory - it can only be planted in a group of 4 per square meter, as it is vigorous and spreads strongly. This charming plant feels well in naturalistic or woodland gardens, and is sure to make fast friends with domestic cats that come to rub against its soft leaves.
The vermilion has feathery, long leaves, growing up to 100 cm. It feels best in a shady position, sheltered from the wind. The soil should be light and humus, constantly moist. This fern looks exceptionally beautiful near bodies of water.
