Chinese peony 'Red magic'
Paeonia lactiflora 'Red magic'
Red chinese peonies are characterized by huge, ruby-colored inflorescences that ooze fragrance. They bloom in June, in warm sunshine, although their duality ensures that they are fully frost hardy. Red magic needs slightly moist soil and not too deep roots to develop its full charm. Peonies are characterized by their longevity, but unlike many older ladies, they like to be repotted to new locations so they can bloom as spectacularly as they did in their younger years.
