Acer palmatum 'Dissectum Garneta'
Palm maples are the quintessential Japanese garden. The variety 'Acer dissectum Garneta' grows extremely slowly - after 10 years it reaches no more than 1 m in height, which, together with the unusual shape of its pinnate leaves and dark red hue, betrays its oriental origin. Like a japanese warrior, the japanese maple makes its presence known in the garden composition not so much by its size, but by its unique visual character with unshakeable calmness and determination. 'Acer dissectum garneta' prefers loamy and moist soil, in a semi-shaded position. It looks great in oriental gardens, the real ornament of which it becomes in the fullness of its autumn robe.
