Chinese wisteria 'Prolific'
Wisteria sinensis 'Prolific'
Chinese wisteria, also called wisteria (Polish name - słodlin) is one of the most stunning vines. In May, its stems are covered with cascades of purple flowers gathered in clusters, creating a fairy-tale sight. Glycynia is a very fast-growing vine - the length of the increments up to 2 m per year. Strong shoots need very solid supports - too delicate ones can be damaged or crushed. The position for this particular plant should be warm, sunny and sheltered from strong winds, in the first years after planting it is worth covering it. When growing glycyrrhizia, the basic maintenance procedure is proper pruning - this is a condition for beautiful flowering. Glycine is strongly pruned at the end of July, leaving about 20 cm of shoot, so it will produce flower buds for the next season. In the spring we cut out dry, frozen and weak shoots.
