Daylilies, within the species, are plants that are extremely diverse in terms of flower form and color. Daylily 'Summer Wine', which strikes to the head like summer wine, impresses with flowers of a warm shade of dark pink, with a yellow spot at the bottom of the calyx. Like all daylilies, this species likes sunny or semi-shaded corners of the garden and any garden soil. It blooms in July and August, and during the winter months - being quite hardy - it patiently awaits the coming summer.
