Tulip 'Negrita'
Tulip 'Negrita'
Robert Zandbergen - a Dutch horticulturist bred a genus of tulips in the 1930s, to which he gave the promising name Triumph. Today it is the most important group among tulips grown for commercial purposes. Triumph tulips reach a height of 45-50 cm, develop single, medium-sized flowers with a huge variety of colors, often with a contrasting border on the petals. They bloom in late April and early May.
Tulip 'Negrita' belongs to this special group of tulips.
In the opinion of many experts, 'Negrita' is the most beautiful purple Triumph tulip. It has been cultivated for decades and blooms for a very long time. The deep purple flowers have a violet glow and a silvery base inside and out. The beautiful, intense purple-purple hue of the petals shimmers depending on the type of light. An upright variety, it grows up to 45 cm tall and is characterized by strong growth. It is ideal as a cut flower, as well as on balconies or in home gardens. It feels best in a sunny location, in moderately permeable soil.
